About

Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a veteran elementary school teacher, certified reading specialist, and proud structured literacy nerd. I’ve spent over two decades in classrooms helping kids crack the code of reading, and I still get excited every time a student lights up when they “get it” for the first time.
I’m trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and structured literacy practices, which means I’m all about teaching reading in a way that’s explicit, systematic, and backed by research…not guesswork or gimmicks. My mission? To help teachers feel confident bringing these evidence-based practices into their classrooms, one sound-spelling pattern at a time.
I believe every child deserves reading instruction that actually works, and every teacher deserves support to make that happen.
When I’m not talking about phonemes or geeking out over decodable texts, I’m probably baking sourdough bread (yes, I jumped on that train and never got off), attempting to keep my garden alive, or stitching something cozy while one of my teenagers raids the fridge. I’m a mom of three teens, so I’m well-versed in eye rolls, snack shortages, and chauffeuring.
Whether you’re a teacher looking for practical tools, a parent wanting to support your reader, or just someone who appreciates the magic of a well-taught lesson: I’m here for it. Let’s make literacy instruction make sense…together.
